Emerging Real Estate Trends 2021 National Study: Homebuying and Homeownership Trends Across the U.S.

Majority of consumers feel owning a home and having a tech-savvy agent are very important
The COVID-19 pandemic is revealing some key takeaways on how we want to live our lives. One learning is that a majority of respondents in a national study (73%) say that owning a home is more important now due to the pandemic. The “Emerging Real Estate Trends 2021 National Study” surveyed more than 2,000 people in the U.S. who plan to buy or sell a home in the next year or have bought a home in the last year. 

Other Key Findings:
  • 86% say real estate agents are important or very important to the homebuying process.
  • The vast majority of respondents say having a “tech-savvy” agent is important or very important.  
  • When it comes to buying and owning a home, 79% say they are most concerned with property taxes, followed by overpaying (77%) and home maintenance, and repair costs (76%).

The study was conducted by eXp Realty and The Center for Generational Kinetics and uncovers some fascinating views on how people have been affected by the pandemic and what they are planning to do in future years.
